If you love animals, then here is a really fun and cool way to get involved in your community: volunteer at your local animal shelter.

If you’ve ever been into an animal shelter, you know how many cats and dogs there are waiting to be adopted. All of these furry friends need homes, but while they are waiting, they also need lots of love. This is where you can help. If you look in the yellow pages of the phone book under Animal Shelters, you’ll find some phone numbers you can call. Ask them if they need any volunteers to come in and help. If they do, ask a friend to go with you. Go after school one day, and offer your services. You’ll see cats and dogs of all different ages and breeds, it’s really neat. Animals need to be cared for as much as babies do. They need to be fed and petted and played with. So, check it out. You’ll be making many animals happy, and you’ll also be having lots of fun too!
