Paul Hamm Diary: June 11, 2004
Tell us your typical weekday
I usually wake-up around 9 a.m. and eat breakfast. I also grab coffee right before I go the gym for our first workout. I work out from about 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and then head home.
At home I either take a nap and/or rest and make sure I have a good meal. I like to be fully prepared for our second practice which is from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. After the second practice, I come home eat dinner, rest, watch TV and do it all over again the next day.
What about your weekends?
Our day off is usually Saturday so I like to go golfing or relax at the pool. On Sunday I practice from 4:30 p.m. to about 6:30 p.m.
Does your training schedule vary depending on the time of the year, before meets, after, etc.?
It does change a little before big competitions because we do more routines. Basically, once we get through our routines we are allowed to leave. When we train for competitions our workouts usually end up shorter.
