Holiday Snowman Project
The holiday season is a great time to get together with family and friends and make fun gifts and decorations! Ask an adult to help you find some of these materials around the house or at a thrift or fabric store, and make a family of these cute Santas!
- 2 empty toilet paper rolls
- White paint
- Glue
- Textured snow
- 2 Small black beads (for eyes)
- 1 red bead or small piece of wood (for nose)
- Black felt
- Red felt
- Holiday-looking cloth
- Paint one empty toilet paper roll with your white paint, and let it dry
- Cover the roll with textured snow
- Glue the black beads on for eyes, and the red bead for a nose. If you use the small piece of wood for the nose, you can glue it on, or poke it through the tube.
- Put a scarf around the tube using some felt of holiday-looking fabric. Wrap the scarf just under the nose.
- Cut out a circle of black felt so that it is about 1/2″ bigger than the tube all the way around, then glue this to the top of your snowman. This is the brim of the snowman’s hat.
- Take the second empty tube and cut it so it is about 1.5″ or 2″ tall, and glue felt around this piece. This is the main part of the hat.
- Cut another round piece of black felt to glue on top of the hat.
- Decorate the hat with other small bits of cloth or felt — for example, you can make a a hat band to go around the base of the hat just above the brim.
- Voila! You are now done with your new snowman! Make some more mini snow-people for a whole snow-family!
