Halloween Safety for Kids
You can have lots of fun when you go to Trick or Treating in October, but make sure you are as safe as you can be as well.
Here are a few hints for kids and parents alike on how to make this Halloween safe and fun. In fact, they are relevant all the time, so read on even if halloween is not near.
- Carry a flashlight to light your way
- Stay on the sidewalks
- Stay in neighborhoods that you are familiar with
- Visit homes that have lights on
- Carry quarters in case you need to call home
- Wear light-colored or reflective clothing so you are more visible (make sure to put reflective tape on any accessories you might have like brooms or swords)
- Make sure to tell your parents where you’re going
- Never go into a strangers house to get your treats, only accept them at the door
- Let your parents inspect your candy before eating it
