Don’t throw out those old crayon stubs just yet! You can be a good conservationist and have fun recycling your old crayons into new shapes for you and your friends. Remember to ask an adult to help you with this project.

• Several old crayons
• A selection of cookie cutters or candy molds
• An old saucepan that isn’t needed anymore
• Aluminum foil

1. Take all the paper wrappers off the crayons.
2. Put the crayons in the old saucepan.
3. Place the saucepan on the stove and turn the heat on low. This will slowly melt the wax crayons.
4. Spread a sheet of aluminum foil and put the cookie cutters on it.
5. Pour the melted wax into the cookie cutters. You might have to hold the cookie cutters down to keep the melted wax from running out the bottom of the molds.
6. Wait for the wax to set and cool. When they’re all cooled off, you can pop your new crayons out of the molds.
