Puppet Making
Get an early start in your life by exploring the things you find interesting. Like Jim Henson said, “Do what you enjoy doing.” In memory of the great man behind the words and the Muppets, try making a puppet. Perhaps you’ll find out it’s something you enjoy, and perhaps you’ll find yourself following in Jim’s footsteps.
You can make your puppet as detailed as you’d like, go crazy and be creative. We’ll get you started and you can do the rest.
You can make puppets with just about anything and everything in your house. Take an old sock, a plastic spoon or a paper bag for the body of your puppet. Grab some scrap material to glue or sew on clothes for your puppet. Use buttons, beads and pompoms for the eyes and nose of your puppet. Use bottle caps and jar lids for hats and ears. Use yarn, pipe cleaners, or string for hair. The design of your puppet is up to you. Maybe you have an even better idea for your puppet, that’s great, go with it!
