Carving a pumpkin can be very hard work. Here’s a fun and easy way to make a Jack O’Lantern or if you like, a whole pumpkin patch full of them. You won’t need to wait till pumpkins are in season either. Don’t forget to ask an adult to help you.

• Newspaper
• Brown paper lunch bag
• Rubber band
• Orange poster paint
• Paintbrush
• Pencil, pen or marker
• Black construction paper
• Green construction paper
• Child Safety Scissors
• White craft glue

1. Cover table with newspaper.
2. Fill paper bag with crumpled newspaper.
3. Tightly wrap the rubber band around neck of bag for pumpkin’s stem.
4. Paint stuffed bag with orange poster paint and allow to dry completely.
5. While the paint is drying, draw 3 triangles on the black construction paper for the eyes and nose.
6. On the black construction paper, draw 2 jagged lines, one below the other, with a little space between them. This is the mouth.
7. Cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth from the black construction paper.
8. Glue them onto the paper bag pumpkin.
9. Cut a stem from green construction paper.
10. Glue stem into top of pumpkin.
