Homemade Clay
Are you an artist looking for a new outlet? Perhaps you’re a kid looking for something fun to do. Or an adult with time on their hands (an interesting expression - does time have weight too?). Whatever your reason, here’s a great idea to get you started. Maybe you could even try building the Taj Mahal out of clay! Give it a try!
- 2 Cups Flour
- 1 Cup Salt
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- Wax Paper
- Paint
- 1 Mixing Bowl
- Cookie Sheet
- Mix the salt and flour together in the mixing bowl.
- Slowly add the water and oil to the bowl and mix together until you get a smooth consistency.
- Tear off a large piece of wax paper and pull off a chunk of the dough.
- Shape the dough into any design that you want…use your imagination. Just try not to make the shapes too thick.
- Place your creations on a cookie sheet and cook in an oven at 250 degrees for about 45 minutes-1 hour.
- When they are done, remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
- You can then paint the objects if desired.
