Make Your Own Popsicles Recipe
In honor of the 11-year-old Frank Epperson who invented the Popsicle, we thought we’d remind you of this easy recipe. It is one that you’ve probably made before, but why not make it again? This time you can add a surprise to it! Follow these steps for a quick and delicious treat!
- Your favorite fruit juice
- Your favorite fruit (blueberries, raspberries, bananas, strawberries, etc.)
- Ice cube tray or paper or plastic cups
- Aluminum foil
- toothpicks
- Pour the fruit juice into your ice cube tray or cups
- Drop a piece of fruit into the juice filled cube tray or cups (if the fruit is big, make sure to cut it up into small pieces so it fits into your cube tray or cup)
- Cover the tray or cups with aluminum foil
- Poke your toothpicks through the aluminum foil far enough so they dip into the juice (the aluminum foil helps keep the toothpicks in place while the juice freezes)
- Place your creation in the freezer
- Wait until the next day and take your creation out of the freezer
- Remove the foil and pull a Popsicle out of the cube tray or cup.
Enjoy!
