Ice Cream Cone Cupcake Dessert Recipe

Ice Cream Cone

If you don’t want the sticky sweet mess of ice cream or just want to try something very different and lots of fun, try making an ice cream cone cupcake.

These cupcakes are baked in ice cream cones and when they bake, the batter rises up over the top to look just like real ice cream. Except its not. You could fool a lot of your friends and family, it looks so real!

Watch it, for it is something to behold! You will need an oven and some solid adult supervision.

  • Your favorite flavor of cake mix
  • Flat bottom ice cream cones (also called plain cones)
  • A mini cupcake tin or a baking sheet
  • Frosting and sprinkles

  1. Preheat your oven according to the directions for the cake mix for cupcakes. (Usually about 350 degrees).
  2. Place your cones in the mini cupcake tins. If you don’t have these, just stand them up on a baking sheet.
  3. Prepare your cake mix according to directions and fill the cones half way with the cake batter.
  4. Bake in oven according to the cake mix directions for cupcakes. (Don’t worry, the cones will be fine in the oven.)
  5. Test with a toothpick to make sure they are done.
  6. Once out of the oven and cooled, frost and add sprinkles to make it look like a real ice cream cone!
