Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Born nearly two thousand years ago, Christians believe Him to be the Son of God. Whether Jesus was really born on December 25th, no one can say for certain.
Now that we’re entering into the holiday season, we need to remember all of the different holidays everyone celebrates. Each person has their own way of celebrating, just like each one of the Chevron Cars does. One of the holidays some people (and Chevron Cars) like to honor is a Jewish holiday called Chanukah. Chanukah (pronounced Han;nukah), which means dedication in Hebrew, is an 8 day celebration.
The Chevron Cars all had a great Thanksgiving, and hope you did too. Now that it’s December there are lots more holidays people around the world will be celebrating this month. There’s Finland’s Independence Day, Tanzanian Independence Day, Chanukah, Kwaanza, Christmas and Day of the Covenant - just to name a few.
If you’re curious to know how these holidays started and who celebrates them you can find out all about it by checking your December calendar. For those who celebrate Christmas, here’s some information about Santa Claus, from the Christmas Information Service.
