The art of bonsai consists of growing miniaturized trees and is based purely on aesthetics. Bonsai trees are not miniature naturally, but can be made out of any ordinary tree or shrub and are miniaturized through bonsai techniques. There are many different bonsai techniques, some are basic techniques while others are very advanced and only practiced by experienced bonsai masters.

Ancient Egyptian Art

In ancient Egyptian art, the human figure is usually seen as many different angles blended together. The head, arms and legs are shown in a profile view but the shoulders and the top torso face frontward. The lower torso twists to a profile position. Over and over you see these sorts of figures which aren’t very accurate depictions of the human form, but interesting to look at nonetheless. Look at the 2 Egyptian figures in this photo. Do you see similarities? Try drawing your own Egyptian figure. Make sure to give them color. Though the color has long worn off, when these figures were first carved, they were painted with brilliant colors.
