Thousands of kids are jumping up and down with anticipation tonight awaiting the arrival of something very exciting coming to local bookstores tomorrow. If you’ve heard of the game of Quidditch or know about Hogwarts then you must know about this special event. If you guessed that a new Harry Potter book was being released tomorrow-you guessed right! Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the fourth book in a very popular series of books by JK Rowling that will hit bookshelves early tomorrow morning.

JK Rowling grew up in England with her younger sister Di. She began making up stories and writing them down at an early age. When she was a young girl living in Winterbourne, England, she played with a group of children that lived nearby. Two of the children in this group had the surname Potter. RK Rowling always liked and remembered this name.

RK Rowling wrote two novels before the first Harry Potter book but never had them published because she was unhappy with the finished books. A few months after the first Harry Potter book was taken for publication in Britain, an American publisher bought the rights for the book. This gave her enough financial security to follow her life’s ambition and write full time.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the first book released in this series, was an instant success upon its release in 1998. This first book introduces us to Harry Potter who has spent the first ten years of his life living under the stairs of his aunt and uncle’s house with his awful cousin Dudley. His aunt and uncle are not very nice to him and his cousin Dudley has made his life very difficult. To his surprise, he soon finds himself in a school for wizards where he is surrounded by magic, secrets, wizards, broomsticks and many other surprises. Harry meets many friends (and some enemies) while he is at this school trying to uncover the secrets to his past and figure out the strange things that are occurring at this school.

The next three books- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and the newest one to be released tomorrow Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire follow Harry Potter through his next three years at the wizard school. If you have not read these books yet…try one! These books will take you on an exciting journey and spark your imagination.
